Hello guys!. How are you?. I’m so happy I finally back to write a new blender 3d tutorial for you. This how to create tree object & its material in blender 3d 2.78 article is a part of my island series tutorial. Here’s the list of previous post:
You can create a tree object by active an add-on called Add Curve: Sapling Tree Gen. Check the box and then click save User Settings.
Let’s try add one tree. Press Shift + A and choose Curve —> Add Tree. Your tree probably bigger than your island object. We can change it on its setting. I warn you to not do any transform command yet. Just click on tree so the object is active, and look on tool shelf ( T ).
If you want to add branch and leaves, you can change both of its setting like the picture show below:
How to Add Tree Material in Blender 3D 2.78:
Because leaves object is separate from tree and branch object, adding material is should be easy. Active leaves object and give it a green color. For quick work, you can use grass material. For branch, we have to create a new material. From the picture below, you can see I choose a brown color and specular intensity = 0.
Apply Group Object ( Tree ) in Blender 3D 2.78:
To make it easier move our tree object, we need to make leaves and branch in one group. First step is to select leaves and then next select branch. In this case, branch will play a role as parent.
Click Object —> Group —> Create New Group.
Let’s make some test with this group tool. Try select the branch and move to another coordinate. You will see the whole tree will move. But, if you click on leaves and move it, a opposite result will display.
For quick group selection, use Shift + G and choose menu Group.
If you want to duplicate the tree make sure the snap element = face is active so the tree will correctly place on island surface.
So, what do you think?. Is it helpful for you?. I hope it is!. If you like this tutorial, please share it so beginner user can gain a new skill and knowledge. And if you have question, leave it on comment section below!. Thank you for reading, friends!.
