If on my previous post, i show you guys what are 3 things you should do to get your site indexed faster, in this post I’m gonna show you one of the tips i mentioned before about adding your blog sitemap.

Since blogger added custom robots header tags on their new dashboard a couple years ago, user have a better option to optimize their blog. We are no longer use HTML template and added them manually. You can optimize your blogger SEO through search preferences feature. On this area, you will find two option, robots.txt and robots header tags.

The use of robots header tags is to give you control how every pages/post should index by search engine ( google, bing, yahoo, etc ). Follow the instruction below for the right robots header tags customize:

1. Log in to your dashboard.

By sharing your blog post on social media website like twitter, your blog will receive a free & quality backlinks, get new readers & traffic, and gain popularity. There are two solution of how to share your content directly to twitter: by manual or automatically. With manual, you can click on social media icon that already added below your content. The disadvantages of this technique is, it will waste your time. Or you can do it automatically with a service like feedburner.

Feedburner is one of google service, so you can trust and count on them. You only have to setting it once, and soon it will tweet your blog post automatically. Follow the easy instruction for beginner blogger below:

1. Go to Feedburner and log in with your google ID. After that you have to burn a feed of your blog address.

In search preferences section, you will see 3 area that need an advance blogging knowledge to play with. They are meta tags, errors/redirections, and crawlers & indexing. In this post I’m gonna try to give you an easy explanation about what is custom robots txt use for.

Robots.txt is a command path for search engine to crawl or not to crawl a specific path or content on your blog or site. Its function is like a filter. Every blogspot site have a default robots.txt like below:

User-agent: Mediapartners-Google
Disallow:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /search
Allow: /

Sitemap: http://blogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?orderby=UPDATED

If you want to see yours, go to your browser address bar and type:

http://yourblogname.blogspot.com/robots.txt
